In this episode, Ally is writing songs for her demo reel. Due to this three-song-requirement, Ally is unable to write a song for Austin's interview with Jett on "New Music Tuesday", which forces him to write a song by himself. After hearing Austin's heavily-Pioneer-Ranger-inspired song, Ally at first lies and tells him that she enjoyed it. Later, however, she tells him the truth with a wide smile, and then offers to let him use one of her songs for New Music Tuesday. This plan is not able to work, unfortunately; her three songs are each too girly for Austin to sing at the interview.
